Contribution analysis of mattress deconstruction in California according to three different indicators (source: Mattress Recycling Council). This waterfall chart shows the contribution of each element (electricity, diesel, etc) to the total score of the life cycle stage being reported. The study found that the impacts of collection and processing were much smaller than the avoided burdens that result from displaced primary production.
